Veracity Wells Software
Veracity Wells provides operators with a standardized approach for risk assessing and managing well integrity across their fields. This Well Integrity software package allows clients to evaluate whether their wells are fit for operations and long-term containment in a systematic and efficient manner.
Effective well integrity management is an industry challenge worldwide. The extensive number of assets requiring evaluation, reduced resources, harsh conditions and the growing demand for extended well service life creates a substantial challenge for the industry.
A Well integrity assessment provides a methodology for well integrity status evaluation through identifying and assessing well barrier system hazards, providing control and recovery measures, and maintaining a documented demonstration that major well barrier system risks have been reduced to a level that is as low as reasonably practicable (ALARP)
The Veracity Wells software aids in visualizing well barriers. It also defines the minimum functional and performance requirements for their design & qualification as well as testing which are targeted to satisfy international standards (e.g. NORSOK D-10 & ISO/TS 16530-2), and different regulatory requirements whilst covering the full life cycle of the well. This will aid in determining whether well integrity requirements are being met and, if not, what necessary steps should be taken.
Veracity Wells provides a method for geographically outlining the field and its associated wells, storing safe operating envelope and well details data along with aligning the applicable monitoring/mitigation actions for the different well barrier elements based on risk and integrity assessment results.
The assessment can be performed at any stage from early well design, drilling and work over operations through to production and decommissioning. The software follows a structured methodology which is compliant with industry best practice and international standards such as NORSOK D-10, which ensures optimized planning and data driven decision making.

Veracity Wells integrity software provides a centralized database for all well engineering and integrity records. Users are given pre-determined access rights to allow changes to be tracked, improving security and allowing unlimited parties global access to data on demand.
Data can be linked to multiple documents which are then securely stored against a well, allowing users to easily target areas of concern and efficiently access key information at the click of a button.
Veracity Wells allows the user to efficiently create a comprehensive well data catalogue. The software contains pre-determined fields which can also be tailored by the user.
Veracity also allows well geographic positioning data to be added and its unique excel upload function means data upload is automated and seamless.
Veracity Wells software ensures operators setup well barrier elements and classify them into either primary and/or secondary well barriers in a controlled, engineered and optimized work-flow process.
The software then provides a pre-populated list of threats and mitigation/monitoring techniques for the user to select the applicable well barrier elements' failure modes and mechanisms and mitigation methods. These lists can be easily tailored and updated by the user.
Risks are defined by assessing the well barrier elements' design & qualification and testing performance status against industry requirements. Mitigation activities are then determined in accordance with the designated risk levels.
The utilized well integrity assessment approach described above encompasses the following elements:
- Description of the well barrier system,
- Definition of well integrity criteria, principles & requirements for activities,
- Gathered data analysis and identification of hazards, threats, unwanted events and their effects (Issues/risks),
- Assessment of issues/risks against screening criteria (considering the likelihood of unwanted events and the potential severity of the consequences in terms of effects to people, assets, the environment and reputation),
- Determination of shortfalls and failures, and
- Implementation of suitable issue/risk reduction measures to control or mitigate the hazard and its effects. Any found shortfalls or failures are linked to a pre-determined response.
The assessment methodology guides the user to fully evaluate the primary barrier status, secondary barrier status, and the overall well integrity status.
Veracity Wells software is setup to ensure well events can be systematically recorded and logged by the user.
The software can incorporate data from all possible well events such as spudding and drilling activities, well work over and commissioning, noise log campaigns, visual inspections, anomalous pressure readings, operational status changes, condition monitoring, acid treatment, decommissioning, well integrity assessments etc.
Veracity Wells allows users to efficiently develop prescriptive time-based well assurance testing plans which comply with international standards, corporate or legal requirements. The software can also adopt a risk-based approach to well activity planning whereby the integrity assessment process is used to define and drive a fully risk-based assurance strategy.
The planning module links activities to assigned action owners. The software also communicates overdue tasks and directs reminder notifications to users when actions are not completed in time. An action tracking system is also included for non-routine activities.
If clients choose to alternatively use their existing centralized maintenance management system to drive the integrity management program, then the software can be easily integrated with the asset specific CMMS.
Veracity Wells is fully integrated with complementary veracity modules, Veracity Inspection, Veracity Anomaly and Veracity Corrosion and Chemical Management (CCM). This link bridges the gap often encountered in data management by enabling the user to report data from the field via the Veracity app, and thereafter study key information such as degradation history and corrosion compliance on one centralized platform from the wellhead to the export production system.
The software can also connect with live field data gathering and analysis systems. This allows for real time management of threats and visualizing integrity status of critical barriers. Further integration is also possible with the client’s CMMS if required to ensure integrated and efficient work planning and management.
The software includes multiple reporting options which can be further tailored to meet client requirements.
Reports can be generated at different levels according to the intended audience ranging from high level management summary reports to detailed asset level assessment reports. Veracity Wells also allows users to export data at the click of the button into excel formats.
