MODULE DESCRIPTION:
An overview of Environmental Management Systems (EMS), requirements by ISO, and what environmental aspects should be considered in setting up EMS. The module then explains management requirements to ensure that significant environmental aspects (SEAs) are under control.
MODULE OBJECTIVES:
- Learn the steps required for creating an effective Environmental Management System
- Understand the ISO 14001 standard and its applications
- Identify the steps and requirements to be followed for operationalizing an Environmental Management System
- Understand the relationship between an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment and an Environmental Management System
ASSESSMENT:
The training module includes case studies and exercises to reinforce learning.
MODULE OUTCOME:
Delegates will be able to set up and operationalize an EMS and identify its benefits to achieve their organization’s environmental targets. They will also learn about the management requirements of a robust EMS including planning, monitoring and auditing requirements.
