Module Based Training

Duration: 60 minutes

Subject area:

Fees: $200.00

This module forms part of our 2-day Wax Management training course which is aimed to provide a detailed understanding on how to effectively manage wax-related challenges. It covers the spectrum of the theory behind wax deposition through to the practicalities of developing an optimal control strategy based on prevention, inhibition and remediation, all underpinned by surveillance. The training module is followed by an interactive case study to reinforce learning.

This module provides an overview of paraffin wax, the reasons for wax precipitation, temperature definitions, measurement techniques, pressure dependence, and common issues associated with wax in the oil and gas industry.

  • Define paraffin wax and the issues associated with wax
  • Understand the reasons for wax precipitation
  • Learn the Key modelling parameters – the Wax Appearance Temperature (WAT), Wax Disappearance Temperature (WDT), etc.
  • Describe WAT determination – its limitations and pressure dependence

The delegates will understand the structure of paraffin wax and issues associated with wax deposition in the oil and gas industry.
