As part of our ongoing commitment to the education sector in the UAE, Asset Integrity Engineering (AIE) was delighted to present an overview of corrosion threats and their potential mitigation techniques to undergraduate chemical engineering students at the American University of Sharjah (AUS).
AIE’s Principal Corrosion Engineer, also provided a case study to aid students in problem solving and to provide a perspective of the Oil and Gas Industry. The lecture was well attended and appreciated by both undergraduate students and university staff.
Corrosion is regarded as a major threat to the upkeep and integrity of production assets in the Oil and Gas Industry. Corrosion, if left unmanaged and uncontrolled, can eventually lead to failures, which may, from a safety, environmental and economic viewpoint, in the worst case be catastrophic.
